Apperly Estates was incorporated in 1919 when the company’s founder, D.C. Apperly, transferred his portfolio of central London properties into a corporate entity.
We remain a private company and are primarily focussed on two areas of the commercial property market – Central London and multi-let industrial estates.
Our properties consist of some 300,000 sq.ft. of buildings, let to 40 tenants producing a gross annual rent of £4.85 million.
Tenants in the portfolio include Chaumet, Halfords, Howdens, Scania, Capita Business Services, Bowmer & Kirkland, Just Digital, DAR Lighting, English Touring Opera, EDF and Sky Telecommunications Services.
DAVID APPERLY (MA, MRICS) Chairman since 1997 and a member of the Board since 1991. He also works as a consultant with Kinney Green, London based Chartered Surveyors, and advises specialist occupiers, private investors and small property companies.
RICHARD MERRIAM (FRICS) joined the Board in 2007. He has over 30 years experience in the commercial property investment market, at St Quintin and three other practices of Chartered Surveyors and is now a Richard Merriam Associates.
RACHEL AZCONA (BSc) joined the Board in 2008. She worked for over 25 years in the pharmaceutical industry for a blue-chip company. She is now an independent strategic marketing consultant to the healthcare industry.
ALISON WINKFIELD has been a Board Director since 1997. Her professional experience is primarily in the travel industry and she is a Director of Winkfield Property Management Ltd.
PETER MULLINEUX, (MEng) joined the board in 2015. He has over ten years’ experience in the investment management industry. He is a director at US firm AllianceBernstein (AB) where he works in equity business development covering global and US services.
JONATHAN STEVENSON (BSc MRICS) joined the board on 1st September 2016. He has over 15 years experience in the commercial property sector, seven of which were spent at Fletcher King where he managed the Apperly Estates portfolio. He is now head of property at Access Self Storage.
JONATHAN HOULTON (BSc ACA) Director of Finance, joined the Company in 2017, was formerly Group Finance Director of ISG plc. He qualified at Arthur Andersen and has also acted as a Trustee of St Christopher’s Hospice.
